A few days ago I posted a picture of a huge box of small blocks — here is what I did with them!
I saw the cutest Alphabet Blocks on the website Brown Paper Packages back in January and I knew I wanted to make them. So I pinned them on Pinterest on my Craft Ideas Board and the other day I finally decided I was going to make them.
OLD and I went to Lowes and bought a 2×4. When we got home and he tried cutting it, he told me it was to hard to cut on the type of saw we had or whatever and that a 1×4 would have been much easier because it was less cuts. So he went back and got a 1×4 for me! It probably took 1 1/2 1x4s to do as many blocks as I did, but they were cheap. So no biggie!
Husband cut the board in half long ways and then cut 1 1/2 inch squares. We sanded them and then I painted the Number and the Capital Letters Black and the Lower Case Letters White. Then he sanded them all again for me so they would look distressed.
I picked a font off the computer and used my silhouette to cut out the vinyl letters.
There were a total of 94 blocks–
Numbers 0-9
1 set of capital letters
2 sets of lower case letters
and an additional a, e, i, o, u, and y.
What do you think? I love them and love how they turned out! I hope the kids like playing with them and I hope it will make it more fun for Parker to learn how to spell!

Really cute–I’ll bet it was a lot of work!
A lot more than I was anticipating! But I love how they turned out! Well worth it!!
